Microblading

Semi Permanent Make-Up

What is microblading?

Microblading is a semi permanent tattoo technique which creates an illusion of a fuller brow with the use of carefully selected high quality pigments and microblades, pigment is added to the skin in the clients preferred style (feather strokes, powder brows or a combination of both). The results last anywhere from 1-3 years depending environmental exposure, genetics and other factors.

Benefits of microblading;

  • Create a fuller brow.

  • Define the brows with a new shape measured to suit your face.

  • Create facial symmetry.

  • Time efficient (reduce the amount of time to get ready in the morning).

  • Does not smudge or smear off.

  • Virtually painless.

What technique is right for me?

Feather Brows - A feather brow is where we mimic eyebrow hairs with very fine lines that look like hair strokes to create a natural, shapely brow.

Powder Brows - A powder brow creates a soft powder effect that resembles the look of eyebrow makeup.

Combination Brows - A combination of both feather and powder. Usually strokes are created with light shading in the tails to add dimension and definition. Great for clients who have little to no hair.

Pre treatment;

  • Do not have botox 2 weeks prior.

  • Do not drink alcohol 24hrs prior to treatment.

  • Do not drink coffee on the day of treatment.

  • Do not wax or tweeze eyebrows 3 days prior to treatment.

  • Do not take any blood thinners on the day of treatment i.e. ibuprofen, aspirin and fish oil.

What is the recovery?

  • Slight redness or discomfort may be present, this will resolve by itself.

  • Day 2-4 the colour will appear darker as it begins to heal.

  • Depending on your skin type and proper aftercare, it is not unusual to see a few strokes fade or disappear. After 6-8 weeks you can come back for your touch-up.

  • For oily skin more touch-ups may be necessary to perform corrections. Any touch-up fees may apply for future appointments if touch ups are desired.

How many treatments are necessary?

Microblading is a two step process where two procedures need to take place for optimal results. The first step is to discuss and choose colour, to draw and outline shape, to agree on the desired technique i.e. feather, powder or combination brows and to execute microblading. The second step is required to go over any strokes, re-touch shadowing or replace any strokes that may have disappeared during the healing process.

In some instances a third touch up may be required at a further cost.

       Day 1-10

  • Let scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away, picking can cause scarring and loss of colour.

  • Avoid swimming pools, tanning beds, saunas, hot steamy showers, beauty treatments and intense training accompanied by sweating or contact with dirt/dust for household chores.

  • No facials, botox, retinols, chemical peels or microdermabrasion’s for 4 weeks post treatment.
